Dining table gathers all the family. Dining table is the centre of the dining room and it is one of the most eagerly sought pieces of furniture. If you want to get a dining table which will cover all your demands and will not create any inconveniences, then you should choose it very carefully. The choice in the market today is huge. There are oval, rectangular tables of different sizes and made from different materials.
Sizes of the table.
The main parameter of the dining table it its size. The table mustn’t take much space, meanwhile it has to be big enough to place every member of the family, at least. Usually one person needs about 2 feet space of the table. So depending on the number of family members you have, you can roughly calculate the size of the table you need. Remember if you need maximum space, do not place the table closer than 1.5 feet near the wall. In order you decided to place a table beside the wall, then get a rectangular table, as oval tables must be in the middle of the room. (At first image is a Radius Contemporary Dining Table)
Of course the table and the surrounding interior must match each other. If you have a modern dining room and a hi-tech design then it would be better if you get a dining table made of metal and glass. For traditional dining rooms people usually get oval tables, or rectangular tables with rounded angle. These tables make the atmosphere warmer and cozier in the dining room.
Material of the table is very critical. Traditional tables are made of solid wood. However these kinds of tables cost very high and they demand extra care, because the material is very capricious. Cheaper variant is a table from MDF topped with qualitative rule. This material will not be damaged from usual hits.
If you choose a glass table, then you should be sure that the glass is qualitative; however today glasses are getting special processing, so it is hard to break them. Glass tables would be perfect for little sized dining rooms, as they do not overload the roam.
